On 2/25/2025 David H had this to say:
Cox Hardwood Flooring has just finished their fourth installation of real hardwood white oak flooring at our home in the Geist area. As always we couldn’t be more pleased. Aside from being real craftsmen, they take great care to minimize the disruption and dust that are always part of a wood flooring project. They flawlessly matched the stain to wood floors in adjoining rooms. We can’t recommend them enough.

On 4/28/2024 Lisa Chilton had this to say:
This flooring company is amazing. They brought back a hardwood floor that I thought wasn’t going to be savable. Thanks for a great job.

FAQ

What’s the difference between prefinished and site-finished hardwood flooring?
Prefinished hardwood comes with the stain and protective coating already applied, making installation faster and cleaner. Site-finished hardwood is sanded, stained, and sealed on-site, allowing for more customization and a seamless look.
Can you match my existing hardwood floors with new ones?
Yes! We specialize in color matching and blending new hardwood with existing floors for a consistent look, especially during repairs or additions.
How long does the sanding and refinishing process take?
Typically, sanding and refinishing takes 2–5 days, depending on the size of the area and the type of finish used. We'll give you a clear timeline after an in-person assessment.
What’s the difference between solid hardwood and engineered hardwood flooring?
Solid hardwood is typically ¾-inch thick and made from a single piece of wood. It’s nailed down and can be sanded and refinished multiple times over its lifetime, making it a great long-term investment.

Engineered hardwood, on the other hand, has a thin top layer of real wood over layers of plywood or composite material. While it still gives you the look of hardwood, it can usually only be sanded once (if at all). It's often installed like luxury vinyl plank (LVP) with glue or floating methods, making it ideal for areas where traditional hardwood may not be practical—like basements or over concrete.
How do I care for my hardwood floors after installation or refinishing?
Avoid excess water, use felt pads under furniture, and sweep or vacuum regularly with a hardwood-safe tool. We’ll provide a care guide specific to your finish and wood type when the job is complete.
